Providence: “Made by Cartier in 1936 and purchased by The Duke of York for his Duchess (the future Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother) three weeks before he succeeded his brother as King George VI, the tiara was given by The Queen Mother to Princess Elizabeth (now The Queen) on her 18th birthday.” (reference) The Queen loaned the tiara to Princess Margaret and Princess Anne on many occasions.
